ACH ARCHITECTURE

The compeptition area big as a third of the town centre had to be integrated and underline the identity of the town – the town with several parks and gardens. But also as the old industrial area and become an active part of the inner city. With these two almost contrasting features the aim was to receive a new urban quality.

The competition entry had a realistic and entrepreneur friendly project plan with clear phases for a city of 20000 inhabitants, A green axis from the first modern Master plan (anno 1906) continues under the railway as a park area and shortens mentally the distance to the inner city.

The transformation included a compact area for sport, health base services and residents for all ages. Both as new garden city blocks and in existing brick buildings. A football arena would be partly integrated in the brick block and be completed with industrial steel and covered with green climbers.
